In mostly related news, the police give tickets for having studded snow tires out of season
Anyone have any good recommendations for a place to buy tires? I’m looking mostly online at tirerack.com, eBay, walmart.com Etc. Are there any others that I’m missing? Looking for size 235 / 75 / 15. Kind of looking for Fairly cheap since I want to sell this SUV, but on the other hand I need good winter performance just in case I don’t sell it.

I deal almost exclusively with Tire Rack. Keep in my you will probably be better off if you sell it with the tires that are on it. You most likely won’t recuperate the costs of the tires.

This happened to one of them recently and I’m sure the others aren’t far behind. Plus I need non-studded tires to comply with my fix-it ticket.
I usually use TireRack exclusively too though. Never had a problem with them, I just remember when Goodyear 235/75/15s were like $65/ea at Walmart a few years ago and now they’re $100+.

Good, because studded tires chip away at the pavement and destroy the roads.
Get the Mastercraft from Walmart.

If you are a Costco member I would say Costco can’t be beat on value of service.
I bought my tires from costco for ~250 less than elsewhere. it comes with free roadside hazard warranty, free flat repairs for life, free nitrogen fill. I had an appointment for 5:00pm I showed up at 5:02pm and by 5:05pm my car was on the lift. I was out the door by 6:10pm.
You might find somewhere that is a wee bit cheaper but as far as total value from now on I’m a Costco man when it comes to tires.

Go get some used tires. Sounds sketchy I know, but if your going to sell it anyway, why pay for tread life you won't be using?

True, plus I can get some beefy tread for similar money.

I see your argument but...

Costco is hard to beat when you are buying good tires..
of course, if you just need something round to pass a vi and sell it used and/or low tier brands may be the way to go.
My rally beater had Achilles Radial all seasons.. cheap like dirt and got it down the road just fine.

Have you considered going to a Firestone/Goodyear/Other tire place and asking for their house brand? Almost all of them have a pretty cheap house brand that works well enough. My wife used the Firestone Primewells on her Corolla and they're a perfectly adequate tire.

Sorry, but when you mention cheap + SUV + tires that usually just equals round+black+holds air. Like usual with parts you must choose just one of these .... either cheap, quick or good.

Yeah I should’ve worded it as a cheap place to get tires, not necessarily cheap tires.
There’s a place near me that sells “Black Leopard” tires . Hmmmkay

Moderately. Enough to keep the battery charged and get some new oil to leak on my driveway

It’ grab used all-season tires and then either get new winter tires when the time comes if you decide to keep it.

Walmart still has tires in that price range.
